Adult, Children and Young People’s Outreach Services

North Derbyshire Domestic Abuse Outreach Services - Provided by North Derbyshire Women's Aid offers outreach support to children and young people, and adults who are affected by domestic abuse in Chesterfield, North East Derbyshire and Bolsover districts.

The Children and Young People's Outreach Service, funded by Derbyshire County CouncilChildren and Younger Adults Department as part of the Preventative Services Strategy,works with children and young people to keep themselves safe through safety planning, to give them emotional support to deal with or overcome the effects of living with domestic abuse and to support them with issues such as anger management and behavioural problems in school or at home.

We work with parents, schools and other agencies to help them to recognise the impact of domestic abuse on children's emotional wellbeing and life chances. We also offer PHSE domestic abuse awareness sessions in schools and art therapy sessions for children and young people.

For adults we offer advice, support and information on issues such as housing, legal issues, parenting, money worries and safety planning.

A free counselling service, coffee mornings and the 'Freedom Programme' - a 12 week awareness raising programme for women are also available, as well as access to our two women's refuges. We work with and refer on to many local agencies to ensure that people get the right service for their needs.
